installing external power supplies
● Protects network traffic to safeguard business information with enhanced security, including advanced
encryption and security monitoring for additional visibility
● Provides consistent network performance with integrated quality of service to support voice and video
applications
● Simplifies installation and configuration with easy-to-use web interface
Product Overview
RangeBooster technology is a compatible add-on to standard Wireless-G that can nearly double your wireless
networks range and increase its throughput by up to 35 percent. Unlike ordinary wireless technologies that are
confused by signal reflections, RangeBooster uses two smart receivers at each end to detect and decode reflected
signals at distances where standard technologies give up. Youll find that dead spots in the wireless coverage area
are reduced, too.
The advanced security features make this solution ideal for your business. Advanced wireless security using Wi-Fi
Protected Access (WPA2) with up to 256-bit encryption, and Wireless Security Monitoring give your business the
visibility and protection it needs. Used when Cisco(r) WUSB 200, WMP200 or WPC200 Wireless adapters are
present, Wireless Security Monitoring alerts you of possible wireless intruders and vulnerabilities in the wireless
deployment and gives you visibility into denial-of-service attacks.
The Cisco WAP200 Wireless-G Access Point (Figure 1) lets you connect Wireless-G (802.11g) or Wireless-B
(802.11b) devices to your wired network so you can add PCs to the network with no cabling hassle. Power over
Ethernet (PoE) support makes it easy to install - you can mount the access point anywhere, even without ready
access to a power plug. With appropriate PoE support at the other end, you need to run only one cable to the access
point to deliver both data and power. Of course, you can also use the included AC adapter if power is available
nearby.
The integrated quality of service (QoS) features provide consistent voice and video quality on both the wired and
wireless networks, enabling the deployment of business-quality voice over IP (VoIP) and video applications.
Additional features like multiple basic service set identifiers (BSSIDs), wireless roaming, and auto-channel selection,
make this solution ideal for your business.
