کلسیم کلراید c4901 سیگما Calcium chloride c4901 sigma کلسیم کلرایددر دمای اتاق جامد است ولی به حالت محلول نیز وجود دارد. این ماده حلالیت زیادی در آب داشته و غالبا به صورت آبپوشیده و معمولا با 2 ملکول آب همراه است. این ترکیب به شدت رطوب را جذب میکند و به عنوان جاذب رطوبت شناخته می­شود. ویژگی جالب این مولکول آزاد کردن گرما در حین حل شدن در آب می­باشد که به دلیل بالا بودن آنتالپی حلالیت این ماده است. کلرید کلسیم را می توان از واکنش بین کربنات کلسیم (سنگ آهک ) و هیدروکلریک اسید تولید نمود . در ایالات متحده آمریکا، کلرید کلسیم را از تصفیه آب نمک­های طبیعی که از دریاچه های نمکی و رسوبات نمکی به دست می­آوردند، تولید می­کنند.
